UCLA Econ/Math

First off, thank you to anyone who reads this since I know people post tons of these types of questions.
I’m applying to ucla, cal, and some other ucs. I have a tag to ucsb so I have a safety, but my top choice is la for econ/math. Anyways, I was considering doing engineering and I took some classes for it to see how it felt. Long story short, it brought my 4.0 to a 3.55. I have straight As besides this semester with 62 units. Im worried that I will be screwed because of my grades in physics and chemistry(D and C respectively). I have worked as hard as I could since spring to try to make up for this, I’v done two internships since then. I also explained in the additional comments that I just wanted to consider that major and that my college has a very early W drop deadline with limited exceptions. Should I be concerned or will they more than likely only care about my grades for the econ math major? All the prerequisites on assist will be done by the end of fall 2016, and I have As. I also took both financial and managerial accounting in case I decide to do the accounting minor and I got As in that as well. Does anyone have any input. I cant stop thinking about this.

I think those grades might be pretty painful, but were they AP/honors courses? Either way, they shouldn’t crush your chances, and I heard internships are a huge help (I’m a Highschool intern myself

I am in a similar trap, and just realize I can use the additional information section to explain myself. Thanks for bringing that to light.

Don’t give up, I definitely think that admission officers will understand. From my point of view, I can see that you have been trying to make up for this mistake, and yiu seem really determined. I’m sure officers will see this too. Good luck!

Sorry I forgot to specify that I’m a transfer student.
