Well tonight is the 11th, I guess we will see what happens

Tonight? at 10:00 pm pacific time??
wow thats in less than two hours …

Just because it was sent out last year on 3/11 at 10 pm does not mean it will be sent out at that time this year on that date. It may not even come out this year until after decisions are released. On the 2014 open house page it says that registration won’t even open til late march so perhaps they won’t send out invitations until later this year.

Guess we will have to wait and see!

Anyone get anything?

@uclahopeful18

No lol, just wondering if there’s still hope if I don’t get one right away

Not all of the eventually accepted applicants receive a likely letter. From what I’ve read, it seems that only around 40% of admits get one

Don’t fret! So they were sent on the 11th and the only one I know if is to engineering students (they were from HSSEAS). Last year Open House was the 14th of April. This year Open House is the 19th, so perhaps they will send them a few days later than last year since Open House is later. I would be really surprised if they didn’t send them out, schools run pretty much on the same routine year after year. It is really good marketing on their part because it gets you emotionally invested in the school before the other UCs and schools get their hooks in you. But don’t expect one unless you are at the top end of the engineering applicant pool, that way you won’t be disappointed. And even if you don’t get one you can still get in, it seems to be a little treat (with big implications) for the higher end students. Many still get in, they may just not get a letter. Hang in there!

Open house is on the 13th this year. Bruin Day is the 19th

To clarify for those overanalyzing as we do on cc The Engineering Open House you were invited to in the likely letter of 2013 was held on the same weekend as Bruin Day. Bruin Day was Saturday the 13th, Open House was Sunday the 14th. This year they are splitting weekends - interesting… a change to the norm so maybe no letters this year??? Anybody’s guess I suppose.

I thought Cal has its open house on the 19th

No one received a letter yet ?

Seems like this year’s will come out later.

If decisions are coming out on 21 then there’s not really too much time left for them to send out likely letters …

^ Hmm good point.

The people on CC have interpreted them as likely letters, but I think UCLA just viewed them as invitation letters to an engineering function for admitted students. So the letters could arrive the day before decisions are posted (or the day after).

The likely letters are clearly an early acceptance and have been sent for the last several years. But this year is still tbd I suppose. At this date seems unlikely they are sending a likely!

Ya sorry about that, I just looked that up to check it out after I posted and edited it so I don’t stress anxious people by throwing out a date issue! Was about the same time last year cause I found housing stuff dated the 22nd. I was at a college event last night and a UC rep (from one of the smaller UCs) said it would be at end of month for Cal and UCLA, but she was obviously off. Earlier the better for everybody!

So is there letters or not?
