UCLA Engineering Subject Tests

Hi everyone,

So I just submitted my UC app last week, and I was about to go through the process of sending scores yesterday when I realized I have a bit of a situation. Basically, I am applying into Comp Sci at UCLA and all of my test scores are well within the range (2330 SAT, 800 M2 760 Lit, 5’s on all AP tests including Computer Science), but I scored a 630 on Chemistry, my only science subject test. They say on their website that engineering applicants are strongly recommended to submit a science subject test that is related to their intended major, but none really apply for mine and I’m worried that my 630 will stick out like a sore thumb considering I already have two solid scores.

Any advice? Should I send the chemistry score to heed their advice or should I omit it?

hmm that’s tough. you might want to talk to your counselor about that. if possible, i would avoid sending the chem score because it’s pretty low, and it’s also not really related to your major. however, they do strongly recommend it. i don’t know, this is a tough situation. what do you think you should do?
