<p>Hi. I have a few questions regarding ethnomusicology at UCLA....</p>
<p>How competitive is it? </p>
<ul>
<li>I have a genuine interest in ethnomusicology as a major, and have played countless number of instruments. (Banjo, Tsugaru Shamisen, Accordion, Mandolin, Etc.) </li>
</ul>
<p>What is most important to the admissions committee? </p>
<ul>
<li>Will the audition be the biggest factor? I have taken about 10 UCLA extension classes with all A's or high B's, with a decent high GPA. My test scores aren't high. This is my biggest problem. (ACT test) I feel that I have a really strong personal statement and will be able to get good recommendation letters.</li>
</ul>
<p>For the auditions is live accompaniment allowed? - so can I play along in a duet or have another person play along during my audition?</p>
