UCLA Fall '20 Transfer Waitlist Thread

Unfortunately, I never received an email. I only know of my decision because I checked the decision site, which is kinda scary in retrospect lol

For those of you still waiting to hear, does you portal pretty much just have the same waitlist letter you got when the original decisions came out?

Correction: I actually got an email notification at noon; I checked the website first because I didnā€™t see the email initially in my inbox.

Congrats to the people who got off the waitlist! I submitted my SIR for Irvine but if I get off the waitlist for LA, will for sure opt-in. Might be a dumb question but, I have my financial aid package for Irvine so should I submit it now for Irvine and then if I get off the waitlist, do I cancel my aid? Does anyone know how that works?

Got this information from the ucla freshman waitlist forum. Looks like we can expect many decisions to come this week.

Just committed to UCI! Still hoping to hear back from UCLA but comfortable with my decision either way <3 Wishing everyone else comfort as well during the current global climate as well as with UCLA waitlist decisions

Congrats guys!!! If you can please share the time you received your email or looked at the portal, your major, and info about your LOCI if you did one! Go Bruins!

I doubt there will be any acceptances off the waitlist today. Hopefully we will hear some promising news tomorrow!

No one got off the waitlist today?

@FHOGHO123 Congrats! Can I ask when you receive the email?

@baek4477 I got it at 12:22 pm on May 30th! The title of the email was ā€œUCLA Decision Updateā€!

Also sorry, I should have stated I got accepted May 30th on my previous post and that Iā€™m a transfer student from Community College.

And thank you!

By the way, I got this off the UC Ensuring Transfer Success 2020 presentation:

UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Data:
1,984 Waitlist Offers
1,273 Waitlist Opt-Ins
459 Waitlist Admits

It looks like a good 36% of the people who opted in got accepted off the waitlist, which is pretty surprising. Of course, this year is a bit of a ā€˜specialā€™ year so I donā€™t know how much is going to change about it, but if we go based off last year, a fairly good amount of people got off.

@refusetosettle Does that mean those 36% of students have already heard back and have been accepted from UCLA? Or do you mean they have accepted around 36% but havenā€™t sent many acceptances out?

oh nevermind actually. I thought it was an update for this yearā€™s.

I believe refusetosettle is referring to the stats of last year. The 36% that is being referred to is the amount of individuals who received an admissions offer from the transfer waitlist. So, that means 459 individuals got off the waitlist out of the 1273 that opted-in. 459 out of 1273 equates to 36%. Hopefully this is helpful @munchenca.

Hello! Just found this thread today, Iā€™m on the UCLA waitlist also  It seems like some people have gotten emails the past 2 days, Iā€™m so nervous :((
Does anyone know if you still receive an email if you are rejected?
