UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@angelcremebrulee why do you make groupie and what is it?

@halpmehxd So true. Additionally, reading this thread is a great time killer too ??
@mpineda3247 So that means UCLA will release later than UCB?

@Ohm888 Maybe UCLA got too many applications than the previous years?

Hello Everyone! I am currently stressing out thanks to a problem that I just found out about yesterday. I am a CSU to CC to UC transfer, and I applied for the fall 2019 term. However, after speaking with a UC representative at my CCC the 1st English composition course I took at my CSU will not transfer over to most if not any UC. I was under the impression, thanks to my CC, that this course would be no problem and transfer over to all the UCs and fulfill my first English comp. requirement. However, this seems to not be the case. Now, I am currently re-taking English 1a which is the equivalence to the first English requirement here at my CC. I was able to do this because it is a fast track course. The problem is I already took the 2nd English requirement. I know that UC are strict on following course sequence and I know this might be the culprit behind my rejection. Is there anything I can do at this point?

Berkley got fewer applicants than the past few years for the 2019 transfer admission. That might be why they announce their decision date early.

@hodol2006 @Ohm888 Any idea why there are fewer applicants compared to previous years for fall 2019 transfer admission?

To me, Berkeley will always be the #1 public university in the states. Most of the years they have been ranked higher than UCLA I believe. Plus, if I get into haas then it’s all good, as it is ranked as #2 for undergrad business in the nation by USNews.

Say one gets accepted in a few weeks, what’s the required GPA one must sustain for this spring semester?

@HarleyTheQuinn I didnt like the majors I applied to, I hate comp sci and wasnt really interested going into mechanical.

@GuzLuis2 Hey, this isn’t specifically UCLA related but I though I’d share my knowledge with you (this is PERSONAL evidence, so if anyone elce has conflicting evidence don’t blame me!). The almost exact same thing happened to me this semester, and I was forced to take English 101 after already taking 105. Well, I got accepted into UCSB, so I don’t think it’s impossible to get in while not following the path exactly. Remain hopeful! At this point, its in the hands of the admissions team.

Did TAU updates stop at the end of March? It looks like I’m no longer able to access it in My UC Application.

@willowstil yes. If you have to do any now, email the admissions directly for the university you need to inform.

@bruins8clap Got it, thank you. So they will only be informed of all winter and spring quarter grades from the official transcripts sent in after acceptance?
I have to switch a PE class due to a health issue; I wasn’t for any requirements or anything and the quarter hasn’t started yet, but since I reported it on my TAU I’m assuming I should still email the schools.

@willowstil It shouldn’t be a problem if the class was not major-prep or for IGETC. They will be informed of all your courses you put on your application. Once you get accepted to Berkeley, UCLA, etc. You then will send official transcript with IGETC certification and then during transfer orientation the school will help you create 2-year plan and help you register for classes.

does it matter if you take the different course from the IGETC area than the one you put on the application for spring 2019? I mean if both courses fulfill the same requirement and none is major course( both igetc)??

@lilii99 it won’t make a difference but email each UC to let them know.

@Ohm888 you mean even the ones who hasn’t release the decisions yet? or I should just call and ask as the general question and then if I get accepted email them?

Email all.

Do you guys know if UCLA accepts mid year report?
