UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Weeks away? really?

@magicsauce yah, people have been speculating either the 17th or 24th, which are 2 and 3 weeks away.

Since there’s nothing I could do anymore with my applications I’ve been painting and been going to the gym more, just so I could take away the anxiety and keep my mind of off it.

Anyway, I know we’re still kinda far from the actual decision date but Ijust wanted to say thanks to the UC forum champions @gumbymom and @ohm888 for taking care of us and keeping us applicants sane during the process and to all of you, It was nice running with all ya’ll! Best of luck to all of us!

Thank you @adreezybones ?

@ohm888 hey can someone please tell me updating this late is not going to impact the application??im just so nervous and anxiety

@lilii99 Just do it. It can only help you not hurt you

if the decision date is the 17th would we know the date ahead of time ?

@leomessi10yan

I don’t think so. UCLA freshman admission decisions were released March 22nd, and they didn’t inform everyone decisions would be released that day until March 19th.

Probably the only clue we’re gonna get is when we see a “planned server maintenance” of the portal that would only open up again on a 5pm PST.

Wow, I had no idea such a thread even existed until now. Can’t believe it’s April already! I know I’m late to the party but please chance me? Looking at the prospective student profile for my major, it looks like I’m on the bottom end in terms of GPA :frowning:

From a CCC
Major: Business Econ
GPA: 3.78
Prereqs: Done
Igetc: Last course in process
TAP: No
EC: Series 7&66 License holder, 2+ years in financial services as registered rep

@jjang25 You have a good shot. Good luck! 3.7 to 3.85 is tier 2, and 3.86 to 4.0 is tier 1. Admission depends on many factors so do not stress too much.

@sagaciousforever Thanks for the tier info! Yeah, it’s out of my hands now so I’m trying to do just that. I do feel like I gave it my best efforts so I’ll take whatever decision I get. Thank again

@jjang25 No worries. Post your stats when the time comes.

You have a better chance than me since I am missing pre-reqs. I have a 3.71 from Pepperdine.

@sagaciousforever Will do. I would think 3.71 from Pepperdine would have more weight. Either way, good luck to us all…

@sagaciousforever

Nothing is impossible. One of my son’s classmates at his CC transferred to Harvard
last year!

They accept only 5 to 15 transfer students out of 1,400 to 1,500 applicants.

She was not an athlete,either.

@sagaciousforever how did u get the info on the gpa tiers? I just dropped from a 4.0 to 3.84 because of one class in the fall :frowning:

@hoppy1 Thanks for the encouragement. I hope that I have a chance for UCLA and UCB.

@whostolemycookie I am just making an example. 3.84 is not that much difference comparing to a 4.0. It depends on many other factors. Just having a 4.0 won’t gain you automatic acceptance, and having a 3.7/3.8 won’t give you an automatic rejection.

I am just saying that people with 3.7 or higher all have a decent chance. I simply want to encourage those who don’t have a 3.9+ and worry about their admission decisions.

Anyone hear anyone applying for European studies? So lonely hereee :disappointed: .

Is anyone applying that is a biology major?
