Oh darn thought it was a sign they played me
I can confirm, got the same email with no code. Very confused honestly.
"
MY NAME,
New scholarship opportunities have become available that you may be interested in:
UCLA Transfer Regents Scholarship
Thanks!
"
That’s all it says, nothing else.
Did anyone not get the email? lol
I got that email too. I doubt it means anything considering that you can’t apply without a code, and last year I believe the emails inviting transfers to apply for the Regents scholarship were sent out in late April right about when admissions decisions were released.
So… Anyone got the code?
Does anyone know how COVID-19 will affect admissions decisions regarding withdrawals? I am tempted to drop a course and my school will give an excused withdrawal due to COVID-19 if I do so, but I am worried my potential acceptances would be revoked as a result. It is a recommended (but optional) major prerequisite that I reported on my TAU as in-progress back in January.
I am in the same situation.
@zekogmo OMG SAME I don’t think it’s an invitation??? because it doesn’t come with a code
@10s4life help us
So did you guys all get invitations to the alumni scholarship?
@ttyy099 I was invited to apply on Feb. 25th. Sent in my application a while ago before the deadline. For future reference, the email looked like this
"Dear NAME,
As a UCLA applicant, you are invited to apply for one of the university’s oldest and most prestigious scholarships offered by the Alumni Scholarship Program."
I also got the 2 emails about the alumni scholarship and applied, and now I got the email about regents without a code
I also got the alumni email a while back (I think in February) but I never filled it out. It did not mean anything though, and it literally ;said on the email that it does not mean anything.
However, this regents email could be a sign, as I have not gotten in yet. I got the alumni email a little later than everyone else, so it could just be that I am getting it later, or maybe I don’t get it at all. I will keep you guys posted.
I don’t think the email with the link to the regents scholarship means anything; it appears to be automated by the UCLA undergraduate scholarship website since a few freshmen actually got the same email that I have seen. I think it it just set up to notify people that a new scholarship was posted, but this one is invite-only. We will have to wait and see if anyone will actually get the code to apply for the scholarship…
I also got the two separate emails about the transfer alumni scholarship a couple of months ago.
@uctransfer2020 yeah i think you are correct. I think the code will be given to us at the time UCLA sends out acceptances and then we can formally apply for it. Everywhere online it says that they send it out with acceptance letters, but maybe that is wrong. However,I know UCLA gives very few regents scholarships (only 100 and thats including transfers) so unfortunately I doubt many of us will get it.
I got the two alumni scholarship emails, I don’t think that means anything. Didn’t get the regents one though
omg has anybody gotten the code?? bc idk if they’re sending it later or have alrdy sent them out
@ttyy099 What seems to be the problem? I’m not caught up on the thread
The Regents scholarship email was automated by the host website. It doesn’t mean anythiing, and wasn’t sent by UCLA Undergraduate themselves. According to Ms. Sun’s website, transfer Regents were already notified, but that might be incorrect info
If you click the link attached to the email, you will see this on UCLA’s website:
“ 4/10/20: Please accept our apologies for the erroneous email sent out this morning regarding the opening of the Transfer Regents scholarship. While we had hoped to open this week, due to the impact of Covid19, we are still waiting to receive the list of eligible candidates. Please be assured that the application will be opening soon and the evites that we send out will contain the unique code needed to apply.”
