UCLA Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

@jaysunflower Yeah I have a 4.0 up to this point, which to be honest feels meaningless with my 2 rejections so far. Not even a waitlist from UCI and UCB but it is what it is. Hopefully there is something good waiting for me at the end of all of this.

@Bubonica If by TAP you mean the Transfer Admission Planner, then yes, I did use that during my application process. You are saying this could help me to get in for my Alternate major if not my primary?

@fitcoderdude

That’s what I thought. I was like who is this lady and why does she keep posting instastories of her dog and her husband. Are UC officials even allowed to post like that publically? ?

TAP is different from the Transfer Alliance Program. You’re right @uctransfer2020

UCLA TAP is actually the Transfer Alliance Program. It is very different from the Transfer Admission Planner website.

Never mind, I got my answer-sorry for spamming!

May I ask what major did you apply for UCI?

Anyone else a Gender Studies major? There’s only one prerequisite but if your CC doesn’t offer it than you must take another social sciences class related to women in order to be considered. My daughter did that so wondering what if any impact that will have. She has a 3.8 which is in the highest quartile for that major …thoughts ??

Hey, quick question. I have been admitted to UCD with the TAG, and since then, I have also been accepted to UCSC and UCB. However, I have already SIR to Davis, can I still get accepted into UCLA? I don’t plan on going to UCLA, but I would like to know if I got accepted lol.

I believe that is a YES. I accepted UCB’s offer on Friday, and I still get accepted by UCI yesterday. So, good luck for tmr lol.

@Benjamin81 May I ask what your major is and why your top choice is Davis? I’m only asking because I’m genuinely curious to learn about UC Davis. I know some people love it there, but I don’t know much about it.

Also, congratulations on getting into so many excellent schools!

Hey did you finish the 7 Lower division preps or the 4 required ones??

Hey guys! Any opinions on where I might stand??

Communication Major
4.0 GPA (no TAP, also did not get the regents)
I have the 4 required major prep courses done from the given list of 7

EC: Senior Production Manager of the school newspaper
Have an Internship at a local TV channel
Was an English tutor for a few months
Volunteer with a nonprofit
Secretary of the Journalism club at school
Work as a daycare assistant.

@spanlang I took one semester of Spanish at my college because I had credit for AP Span Lang and Literature. I took Spanish 10 which is Intermediate Conversational Spanish. Since I had passed all the Spanish classes in my school, I needed another language so I took ASL! I applied as a Spanish major but hoping to change it to Spanish, Community, and Culture!!!

I originally wanted to stay home so UCI was my top choice but I got into Berkeley as well and would like to know about LA!

i just wish they would give us a date. i literally checking their twitter to see if they would announce when they post decisions… but there’s nothing… :frowning:

@Herbidot WOWOW what are the odds! and yes I wish the best for the both of us for the Schools to come. I will probably update once the rest of the school comes out.

Does anyone know if there is a pattern/correlation when it comes to admissions between UCLA and UCB? I was admitted to UCB but I feel like I skimmed by and was curious how are my chances at UCLA. I have completed TAP for both schools.

you seem to be worrying for no reason considering Berk is harder to get into than UCLA for many people, Worst case scenario you’ll attend Berkeley which is a great school, but based off the information you’ve given I think your chances at UCLa are good. Good luck!

@Bonlilicheng I applied for Business admin

Our situation is similar. I also have one accounting course in progress for UCLA. And I have stats and accounting in progress for UCI, but I still got in to business admin of UCI. So I think you still have a great chance to get in to UCLA.
