That’s also a major subject of my concern. They might have relied on GPA moreso this time around because of its reliability and to screen out certain candidates, who knows.
i’m in the same boat as u with the grade trends concern. truth be told, i am worried that they simply look at the bottom line, and don’t take the time to really look at your grades individually. one out of two of my b’s was from a 10th grade cc class, which dented my gpa. however i think that won’t look and will just see the gpa as a standard number

also, my other B was in stats. and for sociology, that is one of the few recs for the major there. so i think our non-a’s in that could impact a lot too, since it brings down our major gpa dramatically
Oh no. Does getting a C in stats bring down our major GPA? It can’t possibly right? Does our major gpa-specific stuff only include sociology classes or does it also include stats? Because if that’s the case, I’m screwed. I hate stats.
I got all A’s in my SOC classes though…
our major gpa includes the recs that ucla made us take for the major. from what i recall, it was only 2 classes, or maybe 3. so yeah, getting a B or a C does hurt it a lot. oops also yeah stats was one of the 2 or 3 recs

Question: If we got an A- in a major course this Winter, will that factor into our major GPA? My school does give A and A- different GPA values. I have an A in every other major prep course.
I believe an A- under the UCLA grading system is a 3.7

i think a lot of people won’t have an A in it, cuz after all, we aren’t math majors anyway! plus stats is a hard class! i took the honors version of it so i hope they don’t see my B as being as bad maybe

For UCLA, they only asked for 3 courses of the below for political science transfer. I took all 7, so I hope that works out in my favor

Even though I got a regents invite, I’ve never been so scared. Major is impacted…
If it makes you feel better, my school only offers four of the equivalent classes, so even if I wanted to take 7, I couldn’t (aside from the fact I also wouldn’t have the time too because I am a one-year transfer)
