UCLA financial aid?

hey all. so i was shocked to see that UCLA doesnt provides international students financial aid of any type for undergrad courses.
since UCLA was my top choice, i was bemused by this fact and my hopes shattered.
also, i cannot pay the whole $55K+ a year (or even 35K+$ )for a course in UCLA. is there any financial aid or any other scholarship which can help cover-up atleast some part of fee? any ?
(P.S i am really REALLY into UCLA for undergrad )
thanks..

My friends tell me that Finaid can be available after first year, but I havent checked it myself.

PS: Thats for UCB , Idunno for UCLA but I expect it to be similar

Not surprising about UCLA…it is a public school in cash-strapped California.
Only some schools offer finaid…someone has the list somewhere.
I wouldn’t base UCB (after first year option) similar to UCLA. Berkeley has a lot of alumni giving and maybe they have other resources independent of UCLA. In most cases, these are private resources.

Why is UCLA your top choice…? It is a good school but I’d pay the same for private/small size schools (exception being Berkeley :))

so, is there ANY scholarship or aid program to pay up for UCLA?
if i take a loan, will i be able to pay back the money in like 2-3 years after i complete my UG from UCLA ? i means, is UCLA ERS(Employee Reputation Score) good enough to get a good job just after doing undergrad from UCLA?

UCLA, while definitely a good school for engineering, is not really top top tier. UCB, GeorgiaTech, UIUC, UMichigan are all better than it, and GeorgiaTech is much cheaper too. Also, I believe that GeorgiaTech is quite easy to get into.

If I were you, I’d consider a different college for engineering

This is written on the premise that you wish to pursue engineering, but I’m sure other majors have similar alternatives which are as good or even better.

I heard about a merit scholarship after the second year. However, why do you think they’re accepting more OOS students? Because they need your money. Now of all times, they cannot afford to dole out any aid.

One ERS score will not help you at all. Getting a job is not based on that score, it is based on a string of inconspicuous choices you will make throughout those four years. I hope this last line makes sense.

How much cheaper would these Us be in comparison to UCLA? For internationals, that is.
