I meant is it ok if we mailed it

Congratulations to all who got off WL.
It does seem like more acceptances compared to last few years.

Congratulations!
And its amazing to hear they’re woking on sunday too. Fingers crossed

UCLA has a public health major too! It’s brand new but very popular already, and has some great faculty.

I don’t know, they were pretty clear about the procedure to follow. Is there a compelling reason you mailed it instead? If you couldn’t access the portal, you should let them know that ASAP.

Is public health a new school? Could LS student enroll double major of “public health”?

Looks like there are many that got off the waitlist in last 24 hours - congrats! There was a post earlier that said the housing deadline just passed (think May 1st?).

Anyone know if they make exceptions for waitlist students, or what the procedure is going to be for these students for housing?

I think they sent the mail yesterday.

Thank you!!! I’m In state and an anthropology major!

Congrats!! Was the email sent yesterday (Saturday)?

My daughter loved HBS at UCLA. I believe you are not accepted formally into the major until you finish all the pre-reqs. I understand it is one of the more competitive majors and not all that want to major in HBS are accepted.

I believe the campus invites admitted freshmen from the waitlist to attend the Transfer Bruin Day, which is on 5/13.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion from those stats.

Which may explain the timing of the waitlist notifications.

Does anyone know if you need to accept the waitlist offer in order to start exploring housing options? My daughter is worried she’s missed the housing deadline and wants to see what her options are before deciding to accept the waitlist offer (she had found roommates and secured housing for UCB already).

I think he is mistaking the effect of yield for WL probability. @SES1 the initial set of admit offers already accounts for the extimated % of admits who will SIR, so they initially admit a lot more people than the # of available seats since UCLA expects only a smaller subset to commit.

also applied biochem, havent heard anything

Daughter got accepted yesterday, Computer Engineering, in-state. She immediately enrolled yesterday to get housing info but she wasn’t able to sign up for housing. Was anyone able to get into housing this weekend?

That’s a great question. I don’t think they’ve figured out yet what their policy is regarding double majors outside of the Fielding School. Here’s the website:
