UCLA Housing Application

I have already read the post above about housing.
On the housing application it allows you to rank in order your living preferences. However, you can choose the same option (e.g. Double) for all 6 preferences. How does that work?
Thanks

I think it severely limits your options when your first choice is not available. They won’t know what you like other than that one thing, so if it’s not available who knows what you’ll get.

Agreed. If it’s not available you’ll most likely get the least chosen option in favor of the people who put “better” alternate options.

I heard that if roommates are your first priority, you have to choose the roommates option as your first preference. However, I want to live in a themed housing of either Global Health or Afrikan Diaspora (sp?), but of course I still want roommates. lol Which preference do I choose? Also since I’m into themed housing, does anybody know what type of rooms am I suppose to rank: suites, plazas, or classic residential halls?

I believe themed housing are all in Rieber Hall, except for a new LGBT/sexuality one in De Neve Acacia. I’m not sure what the process is for themed housing roommates–you might have to contact the Resident Director (RD) about this stuff.
