So I just got my housing offer, they put me in Saxon Suites. I listed residential hall as my first choice and I really wanted to live in a res hall, mainly because I think I will meet more people there, and I can't afford living a suite. I was wondering if they will reassign my housing if I call and explain?

You can try calling. They might ask you to submit a Change of Assignment Request (CAR) [My Housing (1001744)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/portal/site/UCLA/menuitem.789d0eb6c76e7ef0d66b02ddf848344a/?vgnextoid=0670064a9a7d1010VgnVCM1000008f8443a4RCRD).

Call first and tell them you can’t afford it.

I really recommend you switch out now. If you like it quiet and like having a lot of space, saxon will be great. But it’s very antisocial and you might not get the “college experience”. Submit a CAR and make sure you emphasize that you can’t afford it. They’ll most likely let you change, but you might not get a res hall necessarily.

You can switch with someone who has a hall and wants a suite! Like me, haha. I got placed into a triple in De Neve Gardenia/Holly and would love a suite.

Hi guys, I got my housing offer about a week ago. I was placed in dykstra triple which was my 2nd choice. I’m actually fine with it but I’m thinking about submitting a CAR for a deluxe residential hall(gardenia/holly). However, I’ve heard that unlike dykstra the deluxe halls have more returning students than freshmen. Is this true? Nothing against returning students but they are more likely to stick to their own group of friends instead of making new ones like the freshmen do. Any freshmen here who got offers for gardenia/holly?

Mostly upperclassmen were placed into holly and gardeniaz
