haha I know that feeling!

Seriously though, check out Gayley Apartments. They are some badass lofts and literally right across the street from UCLA. Pretty decent pricing too!

i keep seeing that name, but the name itself is deterring me. ha

That’s considered decent pricing?! I have a 2 story, 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment in Anaheim that I pay $1600 for. That’s the same price as their Large studio!

I guess L.A. is a whole different ball game!

For off campus housing, how the heck do people pay the deposits? With student loans? I don’t have that much in savings to blow, and my mom would never help with housing.

anaheim huh?

how do you pay 1600?..

leeh how much are the deposits?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get UCLA owned housing and have my own room? Even one roommate might be ok, but the idea of three people in one room (which they say is typical for transfers) makes me claustrophobic! D: Does UCLA have studios or anything like that?

What about privately owned apartments? I have a small pet, so I’m wondering if I can find a place that would allow small pets, too… Finding housing seems so daunting right now!

I wonder if all of us are planning go to UCLA, we might find a apartment off campus and share the rent?!?!

flipping heck? 3 people in 1 room.

okay I’m looking at davis now, it WILL NOT be worth it living in one room with three people. i am 23 years old, 24 in january…

Housing is very expensive… If Berkeley takes me though, the Co-Ops sound like a great way to circumvent that price tag for housing.

I’m getting an apartment that is like right next to the dorms. I tried UCLA’s finest cafeteria food, and even though they are pretty descent, I got sick of it after three times. And I realized that getting an apartment is much cheaper (mostly due to meal plan) than living in a dorm.

Since I’ve been to couple of dorms (not just UCLA), I know how things are there… it’d be fun if I was a freshman but not anymore. haha

Yup apartments for me!!! The hunt should be interesting…

And 3 is wayyyy too many!!! I’m even weary of 2. Ideally I want my own room

I’m doing off campus university apartments.

Are we moving discussion to here?

I’m fine with 2 in a room; hell even 3 would be fine for just one quarter. Ideally I’d just like a desk space so I can bring a few items of mine (compact dj equipment) and a parking spot… Otherwise I dont give a damn lol

seriously, can’t do a 3 loft with two other fellas, no personal fapping time.

What dorm is the most fun for transfer students to live in?

@ryan, I imagine that depends on the kind of experience you want. If you want people who are in a similar situation: transfer-only housing; if you want people who have learned the “ins-and-outs” of UCLA already: upper division housing; if you want to meet all sorts of people: general housing

I’m looking at housing now, im doing my application ASAP to try to guarantee my first choice. I’m not sure if I’m understanding this but residential suites and plazas are the same price? Anyone know why?

If you have a car I would suggest looking in West LA, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks etc. You aren’t going to find any deals in Westwood. Good luck everyone!
