UCLA-Housing

As a future UCLA student I'd like to know about the housing at UCLA. I've read about all of the housing available and have read through the threads on this website, but I am looking for a specific housing that I will be comfortable with. I'm looking for housing that is a relatively large dorm room and specifically a single room to myself. I'm going in as a transfer student and I know I might end up in a triple or double most likely but I hope someone out there has been in my shoes and got a single to themselves.

Anyone’s own personal experience living on the UCLA campus is greatly appreciated.

You can get a single room at UCLA, but its a “suite” style (with a shared common room among 5-6 people with their own rooms. As a transfer student, you could also opt for the transfer housing which isn’t on the “Hill” where all the other dorms are, but are out in Westwood. Not sure if there are single room options there though.

UCLA housing is fantastic, and I enjoyed it. The dining hall food is great, too. Admittedly, I was a little sick of it by the time I left UCLA, but man do I miss it now :)

Thanks, that’s good to know. I am hoping for lots of financial help from the school so does that come into play as far as which housing I prefer and what they would prefer for me cost wise?

Financial Aid is independent of housing choice.
