UCLA Library Help

I'm going to UCLA on the 11th and 12th(Honors day). I don't really have anything planned on the 11th and since I have a massive senior project to work on, I believe UCLA's library would be a nice resource =P. So my question for anyone that attends UCLA now is, am I able to just walk in, sit down, and start working or do I need some kind of pass? Also, where in the library has places for me to bring my laptop, plug it into ethernet, and start working away? Thanks folks.

I'm assuming you're talking about Powell Library (a.k.a. the College Library) here... yes, you can just walk in and sit down anywhere without a pass. Every table in the Main Reading Room and the Lower Reading Room has one to four Ethernet jacks mounted on it (depending on the size), but when you connect your laptop to it and fire up your browser you'll get a page asking you to log in with your BruinOnline ID, so you'll need one of those, unfortunately. If you have a BruinCard, you can also borrow the school's laptops to use on the spot.

You should look into which library would be good for what you need to research. There are 12 libraries on campus ;)
www.library.ucla.edu would be the place to check this out.

Thanks guys. Yeah I was talking about Powell, sorry for not mentioning that. Hmm so no internet for me eh? Oh well. You guys really should get some sleep, it's past 1am already.

Flopsy, get off and go back to MyUCLA, R demands it.

Anyway, knock yourself out at Powell. UCLA has one of the largest research libraries in the world.

Why can't I be in two places at once?
Compared to College Confidential, the MyUCLA forums aren't as academic.

Let's face it: This site is just a giant self-love fest. School A students think School B sucks, so they run around bad mouthing School B.

Either that, or it's high school students bragging about what big name schools they got into.

Well, for the most part...

but the MyUCLA forums get SO OFF TOPIC all the time

shinseki, i know several high school students who use powell library as a resource, although they usually get a ucla student to check out books for them.

^ thanks to Spammo lol

thanks (btw I'm typing this from UCSD)
