Soooo hello everyone! I am currently a senior at a California High School and man I cannot wait to graduate lol. Anyways, I want to know if you know anyone or even if yourselves got into UCLA or any UC at that with a low college GPA. My dream school is of course UCLA and I received the supplemental questionnaire about almost a month ago.
Btw, for those who applied to UCLA and/or any UC … ITS MARCH AND ITS ALMOST MID MARCH AHHHHHHH! GOOD LUCK TO US ALL #CLASSOF2019
College GPA? Are you a CC transfer? If so, what makes you different, UCLA is indubitably receiving plenty of transfers w/ 4.0 GPAs. You have to have something that makes you noticeably different, and a lackluster GPA is not going to get it done

I am guessing you’ve applied as a freshman - the answer varies year to year but, the link above will take you to UCLA’s Common Data Set. Scroll down to C11 and you’ll find a table that shows just a handful of people below 3.75 made it in.
@SittyWok no, I just said I’m a high school senior lmao. A college GPA is just your weighted GPA…everyone knows that. And well, can I say I am a double minority? Maybe that is why they are considering me, I don’t know. Also I have many community service hours, some awards and a great personal that even the hardest English teacher in my school (who graded most AP English/Literature tests for 20 years) said if I was in his class he would give me “100/100 points!” so you tell me.
At UCLA. Psych does’t lower the bar much. Every major there is really competitive. Minority status won’t help you - all the public schools in CA are race-blind by law. Outlying cases have done something significant to to distinguish themselves. They include recruited athletes, people who founded million dollar companies while in high school, started significant local charities, perhaps an olympian or two… seriously, it is that competitive.
I don’t know your stats so, i can’t say if UCLA is for you or not…
There are lots of great schools in CA that are very accessible try to find one that suits you. Good luck with the process.
I am a parent of one college student and one high schooler. .
UCLA’s average GPA for enrolled freshmen was a 4.31 in Fall 2014, and UCSD’s average is around 4.0-4.1, so that gives you an idea of the range that UCLA is looking for.
