UCLA or UCSD?

I got into both universities, but I am not sure which to attend. What does each university have to offer that makes it unique?

which campus/area do you like better? pick that one.

best for you is not always what people say, find out for yourself.

you can make a decision in the middle of summer?

no… 10 chars

SIR Fail? Transfer students get decisions later yeah? But… this is way after.

nah

problem solved- here’s his other thread:

By the way everybody, I made a mistake, I am not attending a UC this fall. I meant that I am going to apply for a UC next fall and I would like to know what each of these universities has to offer.

If you’re doing anything other than engineering, go to UCLA.

Awesome location, awesome everything. Except the budget cuts… but that’s probably even worse at UCSD

It really depends on your personality. UCLA ranks slightly higher than UCSD, but they are both sort of on the same academic field (although UCLA is a bit more recognized).
Do you like living near the beach? (UCSD in that case) Or do you prefer to live in a central area where beach, mountains, desert, and downtown LA are several minutes to a couple of hours away? You really should try and visit both schools to see what they are like. Even at the very least you should watch some online tour videos to get a sense of what the campus and academic surroundings look like:

My College Guide books say the students do NOT like the professors at UCSD. Anyone have first hand knowledge of this?

thats as insightful as saying americans hate pizza. some people like it, some dont. a few decided to write a book with a random claim and found people willing to pay for such an opinion

in other news, some ucsd professors suggest closing uc merced, ucr, and ucsc to close the uc budget gap

[UC San Diego profs come up with budget fixer: Close UC Merced - Local - Merced Sun-Star](http://www.mercedsunstar.com/167/story/942002.html?storylink=omni_popular)

not feasible, but points for creativity

Opening Merced does look like a bad idea now.
