Hey Guys,
So I was wondering what to do for the photo section of the housing app. My passport photo is 6 years old and I was wondering if I can upload my drivers license photo instead? Any help?
Thanks

They don’t want your real passport photo. They just want a passport quality photo. Just a picture of your face against a blank white background.

just check around your area to find a place that does passport photo service (e.g. Yelp). You need to send a real 2’’ x 2’’ to UCLA for your Bruincard anyways.

I got mine for $12 (4 photos + CD). I just upload my photo to housing app from the cd.

what is the point of the photo for the housing app?

facial recognition program to identify criminals?

idk, was wondering about that too

yeah i couldnt think of a logical reason.

Maybe ur roommate(s) will get to see it?

It isnt mandatory to upload so I dont know…im curious though

Probably so they can identify the person who actually checks into your room or something. I believe most if not all universities follow the same procedure.

Yea I just got a passport photo taken at Costco (4 for 12ish bucks) then mailed one with the Bruincard app.

it does say “Please upload…” and not “You must upload”

do you guys if they also make that pic on our bruin card, too?

yeah you can just continue without uploading it.

Is anybody else having trouble uploading a photo? I keep loading different pictures but none are showing up

pretty sure it’s normal that no picture is showing up.
