My biggest advice to people is to never let people tell you that it’s impossible to do something. During the few remaining weeks of my senior year, a college admissions counselor from one of the local cc’s told me that i should stay at CC for 2 to 3 years because transferring to UCLA by doing 2 years in 1 year at CC is impossible. Yeah… how’d that work out?

GPA: 4.0
Req/IGETC: req done by end of fall 08, igetc done by spring
Essay: i thought it was good enough…
EC/Work: main one with congress, but i’m not supposed to say what i did or so i was told
Notes: same as chibi, only spent a year at CC n class of 08 for HS, TAP cert.

i definitely agree with Chibi_loopi. 1 year was completely doable, even while working 20+ hours per week. Poli sci is a major with very little reqs… just get good grades

hey guys …

I learned that UCSD is as good as UCLA in PoliSci,

(some polisci ranking actually put UCSD over UCLA)

and I actually know fds who choose UCSD over UCLA…

Thoughts ?

I think overall, UCSD has a better Polisci program than UCLA. But in terms of concentrations, UCLA has a better Comparative Government and Political Theory program.

Also, you have to realize that it’s undergrad. Undergrad rankings dont really mean anything as long as you perform well at your own respective school. Either way, it’s a wash since both schools have very good programs that only differ in rankings slightly.

UCLA has a better social scene and has more of a community-like feeling than UCSD… because of this, Im choosing UCLA.

GPA: 3.92
Req/IGETC: Reqs finished by the end of Spring/Same with IGETC
