Guys I got accepted at UCLA for Pre Economics, because when I applied that was the only economics major available. Can someone explain how this works?
Thanks!

Congrats on getting accepted.
Pre-economics will be your major until you fulfill all of the pre-requisites to declare either Economics or Business Economics as your major. Business Economics is very competitive because you need a 3.3 primary score (there’s a calculator and info on the econ website showing how this score is calculated). Regular Econ is much easier to get into.
During orientation, you’ll have a departmental meeting with the econ department chair, and she will give you a packet that lists all the courses you need to take as pre-requisites. The packet will also have all the other info you need about both majors.
