congrats to everyone. Do we have to maintain a 4.0 gpa to receive and keep the award?

@tinydancer13, I’m not sure about the receiving, but on the website it says we have to maintain a 3.0 for all quarters at ucla if we get it.

I’m looking at some old cc threads about regents getting denied from ucla. Oy vey.

Just got the invite! Has anyone tried to enter the application? The website says my application ID does not work…

Just read the forum… Let’s hope it all works for us soon!

4.0 not invited. Congrats and good luck to those who were invited!

Got one today. So it’s not an unofficial acceptance? Meh. This is making me reconsider UCSB. blah!

@nichtszumachen
I’m here! Just living under a rock these past few days I guess…
Congratulations to everyone who got an invite to be a Regents scholar!

I read this thread and initially thought I didn’t get the invite because I didn’t see it in my inbox but then I was scrolling through again and I saw it! I guess I had missed it the first time around.

Needless to say, I am excited :D

Congratulations again to everyone else nominated! Good luck to us all.
And to those of you who were well qualified but were not nominated, I’m sorry and I hope that other wonderful opportunities arise for you.

Congrats, Flo. Is anyone else not getting access to the regents application? I get an “unexpected ID entered” error.

I got one too! I can’t believe this. By the way, why is it only 2,000? I am confused with this. What is regents really? I never looked into it since I never though they would consider me.

I can’t login either. It will probably be fixed soon.

@giantsfan0824 : My gpa is 4.0. I also have a part time job at my CC.

Just curious, if we are eligible for regents at ucla, does that mean ucsd and uci are probable as well, or are those over with already?

If you win the scholarship you receive $2,000 per year for two years, so it is $4,000 total. I might be wrong on this but I think UCI and UCSD don’t send invitations to compete and instead just pick winners based off of their regular UC application. I could be wrong though.

@ccnube
it’s 2,000 dollars without any further financial need. If you have more need, I think they give you up to your federal financial need in extra grants and scholarships

Thank you @sega18!

Is anyone not able to log in?
Mine says something along the lines of the application ID not matching the expected ID?

I may call in tomorrow if its still acting this way.
Has anyone else been able to get in?

@AnthroFlo, I think everyone is having that issue

By any chance does anyone know if I will still qualify for the scholarship if I dropped a class this winter quarter and am below the 12 units?

@goodjobdaveman: I believe it should be fine as long as you call in to update your education plan for the UC app, and you still meet 60 semester units by the end of Spring.

As for the error with the UC ID for the Regent’s page, I also received the same error.

The Regent’s Scholarship does not mean an admission offer, but the chances of an admission offer for transfers are extremely high in comparison to Freshmen.

I applied to BU as a freshman and I was offered a similar scholarship, but I didn’t get in. I only got into their community college thing that is connected to the university.

@anthroflo I’m so excited we got this! Kind of makes the wait to the end of the month a little bit easier.

Has anyone been able to access the application!?

@AnthroFlo

Congrats on the Regent’s scholarship invitation!
