UCLA regents question

if you don't have a 4.0 gpa you cant get an invite to regents right?

also if you didnt get one how does this affect your chance of being accepted to la?

This is from the UCLA Regents Scholarship website:
300-350 transfer students are invited to compete for the Regents scholarship each year and have, historically, maintained a cumulative 4.0 GPA at their prior colleges
And this year, 14,982 transfer students applied to UCLA; and through some basic calculations, only 2-2.3% of applicants were offered the scholarship.

UCLA admits, on average, ~22% of transfer applicants; that leaves 20% of the applicant pool as a posteriori admits.

Also, as the quote above notes, UCLA regent invites are historically sent out to 4.0 applicants, but that is not always the case. This year, someone had a 3.93 (or something to that effect), so it's possible.

yup! i got invited with a 3.951

All A's, but my school is on the +/- system, I had two A-'s, so that knock me off my 4.0.

Although, i read somewhere before that to be fair, since not all CCC is on the +/- system, the UC's do not calculate it into your GPA during the admission process. Not sure how true this is.

where did you get 22% from?

2007 Transfer Admit rates:

College of letters and science: 42.55%
School of Arts and Architecture: 13.78%
School of Engineering: 48.35%
School of Nursing: 32.65%
School of Theater, Film, & Television: 8.08%

thanks for the information!

geez im still freaking nervous haha

Wow, I didn't notice the admittance rates we so high; I was assuming it was somewhere near UCB, I guess not.
