UCLA Single Housing

So... I am a 2011 transfer and...

I want to live alone.. and cant see to find concrete information on this, so please help! here are my questions!

Are there single dorms in Halls?
Whats the best option for someone who wants to live alone?
What would you guys recommend? I want a decent meal plan with a single room.

you must be ballin…

i wish i could say anyhting… but I am lookin at beaner packing the **** out of my room… like 3 beds in 12 x 12… pay 100 dollas a month fo a place to sleep at night.

nah i just seriously dont want to get distracted by roomates and such… really needa focus…

It’s hard to even get doubles in the residence halls and the university owned apartments. You can definitely apply but when you get a double/triple you’ll be pretty ****ed.

I would suggest looking off campus, right now is when everyone’s starting to look so you could probably find a roommate. A few people on here have even said they need roommates?

@izmeben… i’m in the same boat as you… i’m going to apply for a single room… and maybe a 1 person studio university apartment… hopefully they give me what i want :/

■■■■■. funny.

I went to UCLA in Fall 2007 as a transfer and was given a single in Hedrick Summit. This is the secret to getting awarded a single:

When you fill out the housing survey indicate that you want a single, and make sure you portray yourself as very difficult to live with. Write that you like to stay up until 4am on Tuesdays. Write that you are a smoker, but also check the box that says “I can’t live with smokers.” Do whatever random stuff you can do on that survey to make yourself look like you are very difficult to live with!!

I don’t remember the exact survey questions, but I do admit that I filled it out with this mentality in mind, and it worked. I got a single!

Bwaahahaaa @smith415. I did the exact same thing and they gave me a single in Hedrick Summit! I’m only an incoming freshman!
