UCLA Summer Session (Film Production)

I just enrolled in the summer session at UCLA for the film program and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this. Any tips? What can I expect? Is it better to live on campus with a meal plan or off campus? What is the student life like in the summer? Are ppl friendly with visiting students etc...
Thanks!

Keep up with your work. You’d be surprised how quickly 6 weeks go by. Living off campus is cheaper and offers a better quality of living. Most students don’t live on campus during the summer. Student life is basically nonexistent during the summer, but you can make friends and have fun still. People are very friendly here.

@lavidaloca44 Hi! So I did the film production summer program last year. The person above me is absolutely right, very much cheaper to stay off campus. I stayed on campus and it was what you expect out of dorms. They have a lot of high school programs so expect to see a lot of younger kids on campus. I bonded with people out of the program, other than that you might meet others through roommates or some other casual encounter, but not a whole lot likely. Six weeks does go by fast so make the most of it. You will be in the heart of hollywood, so much to do and see, so definitely take advantage of it!

Great thanks for your answers! So I am still a bit torn about wether I should live off campus or in the dorms/plazas. I like the idea of being more in the city or perhaps by the beach, have a little more privacy but I don’t want to miss out on making new friends. What do you guys suggest? Also how is the public transportation system in terms of accessing the school (I will not be bringing a car from out of state) @whooligan13 You did the program last year, what did you think of it overall(quality of teaching, experiences, the overall atmosphere, the students)? And as for the dorms, were most people in the program living in them or were most people living off campus?
Sorry for all the questions. its just that the school’s housing is really expensive so I want to make sure I am making the right decisions.

hi! could u share more about your experience there cos im thinking of taking classes over the summer in ucla as well
