<p>At my dept. open house the lady in charge told all the transfers “Since you’ve been invited here, that means you got into our dept. based on your portfolio so the hard part is over. Now all that has to be done is for admissions to accept you based on your transcript. But that’s never been a problem before.”</p>
<p>Did your friend have a strong portfolio? It could be possible she was accepted by the department but rejected due to low unit count. The admission is done in two parts. First the applicant must be accepted by the art department and then secondly, the admissions office checks that the applicant meets minimum eligibility requirements.</p>

<p>i think the new theory should be: If you see financial aid you’re in, but if it says rejected on your financial aid then well you’re probably rejected.</p>
