UCLA TRANSFER APPEALS 2017

any one else hear anything?

I didn’t. Praying to hear back next week! Staying positive!

Question for everyone appealing in here - how many units were you guys typically taking? I am afraid that I have only averaged around 14 units in the time that I have been at my CC and will show UCLA that my course load is not loaded.

@choukevin
I took 14CR the first semester, 23 the second semester, 16 summer, 21 the third semester, and 19 this previous semester…3.85 GPA, still rejected :frowning:

@TrasnferStudent wow that’s pretty insane…if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your major and did you finish your major pre-reqs in the fall before the spring? And did you do TAP for UCLA?

@TrasnferStudent if you had a lot of major prep courses in spring, that could explain it.

I called the undergraduate admissions office and they stated that students hear back roughly 15 days after submitting their appeal. However, the are a bit behind due waitlisted students. This causes me to believe that those who submitted earlier within the appeal filing period, are hearing back first. I know that may not help much because it has definitely been over 15 days. 35 days and counting for me

Do you guys know if they’ve rejected anyone yet?

Nope! I’m still waiting and I’m becoming impatient. I submitted my appeal May 2nd. It’s June 17th now.

The admissions office replied to my email saying there was a delay and we should be hearing back by the end of June! Im hoping this is true, but I feel like we will be hearing back mid-July at the latest. (Looking at past forums)

There isn’t anything else we should be doing right? like no sending transcripts/scores/anything

Looks like ppl accepted off the waitlist have until the 21st to send in a decision! We should be hearing back by the end of this month (hopefully)

Necrobumping… Anyone hear anything yet?

Anyone hear back yet?

please let me get my ‘no’ already

@chocstraw Literally waiting for the same thing… Just tell me ‘no’ so I can focus on SD.

It’s gonna be this Friday or Saturday, based on last year.

Hey everybody. Yes, the chances of being accepted off appeal are usually slim, but even if we aren’t accepted into LA, that does not mean that we don’t have wonderful opportunities waiting for us at our respective universities. This is just the beginning, so whether you are accepted to UCLA or not, just remember there is plenty that lies ahead for us!

I am going to be brutally honest here. As much as I wish every single one of us on this thread gets accepted, I have a strong feeling (and based on last year’s thread) that by this time we don’t hear back, it’s a guaranteed rejection.

However, even if we do get rejected, this is only going to be a tiny small obstacle of our life. Think about it, 20 years from now, we probably would be laughing our asses off knowing we went through a roller coaster ride of emotions for a school. There are plenty of opportunities (or even more) at other schools, not just in LA! It’s really what you get out from the school that affects employment opportunities, not necessarily which school you go to. With that said, as of today, my appeal is still under review and I hope everyone can post whether they got rejected or accepted on this site when decisions are out so the 2018 appeal applicants have a reference!

My friend who’s an Econ major appealed successfully last year and he only heard back on July 1. We all deserve a pad on ourselves since we’ve gone through such a long way. No matter what the results are going to be, never let go of our faith and passion. Wish you all the very best in the future!
