@InTheNightSky95 Yeah, I know it probably means nothing, but my
paranoid brain is telling me that it’s a bad sign.
I called and asked if the enroll rate of a major makes a difference in wait list admission and they said no.
I’m pretty sure they will never tell us anything so we’re really in the dark.
Also, I didn’t get an email about the wait list, only the standard email on the last day saying “A decision has been made”, which always means “You’re denied”.
Posting stats for future hopefuls!
UC-UC Transfer
Major: Health Sciences Major
GPA: 3.46
I used to additional info to write about my research that I got into after applying, and how UCLA’s program is best fit to my career interests. I also added a paragraph about how it’s been my dream school forever!
I know my GPA is low, but I had some extenuating circumstances my freshman year (parent passed away), so I am grateful for the waitlist offer. Hopefully we all get in, it doesn’t sound like there’s too many of us but then again, a lot of people may not be that active.
The commitment date is right around the corner, so I hope we’ll get some news swiftly. It would suck to wait till the end of June to get rejected anyway
I don’t believe that last part about their being sensitive to the fact that No Cal will choose Berkeley. I just don’t. I got accepted to both (bay area resident) and I know dozens of locals who have, too. Not every advisor gives correct info. Sometimes they just pull stuff out of their hat. I also know someone who wrote extensively about Haas and another who wrote only about Berkeley in their essays and both got into UCLA. Maybe that last part was the CCC advisor’s opinion.
I also never heard that with TAP you’re “automatically” transferred. You have priority, which is not the same as a guarantee. An automatic transfer is essentially a guarantee. But maybe I’m wrong.
@Ohm888 I’m totally aware that a lot of counselors make stuff up, but she forwarded me the email from the UCLA advisor. Also in my post I did not say that you’re “automatically” transferred. I said you can get moved from a maybe to a yes, but that obviously does nothing if you’re already considered a no because of missing prereqs, low GPA, etc. She’s also the head of the honors transfer program, so I don’t believe any information from her regarding that would be false. But thanks for your input!
@amunroeee You said automatic maybe to yes. I do not see how every maybe can statistically make the cut, but whatever. (I’m not quite sure the email forwarded to you said “every” maybe is an automatic yes, but how do I know. It would be a rare utterance from a UC. They usually stay deliberately guarded and vague.) Regardless, I still disagree because I have personally seen differently and simply stated my opinion based on observation, FWIW.

Also if every TAP maybe is really a yes, why are they even in a maybe pile? Why aren’t they just put in yes?
Regardless, I still disagree because I have personally seen differently and simply stated my opinion based on observation, because it seems unlikely. FWIW. Just my opinion.
I saw last year that some people were notified on May 30 which is super weird. Is it based on that major? Or like the individual colleges itself?
@juliamarie15 do you have a link to last year’s waitlist thread?I believe it’s by major.
@catgirl48 this was what I found. Now I’m 2x sadder b/c i don’t seem like the engineering majors moved off of the list and they waited until July to be denied :((

*it doesn’t
has anyone got accepted yet?
Nope, but people still have a lil time left to commit so they probably wont know how many spots they have open in each major till tomorrow at the earliest.
Well, folks, there’s a spot open in the college of biology. I was accepted and declined my offer of admission as a transfer so there’s room for at least one. Just thought it’d be nice to let you know.
@sarah38 What is exactly your major anyways??
Any one got in today? BTW, I applied statistics with 3.8 GPA. Is anyone applied statistics too?
@aaaaronmzh me!!! Statistics major!! Where did you get accepted so far
Hey guys! I just got off the waitlist this morning! I’m majoring in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics . Gpa: 3.9. All pre-reqs done including a yesr of physics. Igetc done as well. I BSed the essay portion of the waitlist and said “I love Diddy Riese”
