UCLA travel

hey guys, i was just wondering if theres a guide or a website or something that has the most efficient method of travel from place to place.

mainly because my girlfriend goes to UCI and i dont have a car and i was wondering if theres like a train or special bus that i could take to get there and back

any help would be appreciated!

You could try vanpool.

What is a Vanpool? (1001378)

If that doesn't work out, try browsing the UCLA Transportation site: UCLA - Transportation & Parking

yeah i looked into that but for me to get back to ucla seems like its gona be a hassle waking up at 5:00 in the morning.

do i need to make a reservation for them to be able to take me??

yes, for the vanpool you have to pay for your ticket at parking services and arrange with the driver in the van the day of or the day before you wish to take it to see if there's room for you...

also, there really isn't a special bus or train to UCI. i know. i'm there. you'd have to make your way to union station, jump on the OC metrolink, get off in tustin, and take two buses to UCI... i'd suggest making friends with someone with a car...

Yes I just got back from visiting UCI last weekend and I couldn't agree more with the above poster.

Make friends with someone with a car... or be prepared for some ****ty metro travel if this girl is worth it.

^ didn't go so well?

I'm opting for the friend with a car this weekend... :-)

ohh okay. i think ill just do the vanpool option then. do u guys know if i could reserve a spot in it? or is it more like a first come first serve option?

you have to reserve a spot. just go to transportation services (in the Strathmore building) and they'll give you the phone numbers of the drivers for the particular routes you want to try to ride and you'll have to call them to see if they had any room... if they do, then you'll have to pay for a ticket there.
