University of San Francisco, Dominican University and Azusa Pacific in California. The link in post # 18 has many private direct entry nursing programs. Do some research to see which ones are of interest.
@NurseStav Point Loma U in California is beautiful. It seems direct but isn’t completely but people report that they have space for most to move on. The link I shared above has the national list of true directs
@NurseStav Case Western in Cleveland. Direct entry and private.
hi @Gumbymom @readthetealeaves My college counselor told me SDSU’s Direct entry nursing program only takes 5-10 people and the rest are pre-nursing. Is this true? If so, can you provide more info?
@NurseStav: SDSU only offers direct admit for Freshman applicants and does not offer Pre-Nursing. If you are not accepted as a Direct admit Nursing student, you cannot apply to the program as an SDSU student later. You would need to attend another college/community college and apply for transfer.
Here is the Nursing stats for SDSU for last year 2019 and you can see that they accept far more than 5-10 applicants. They normally enroll 120 students but offered admission to 323 applicants.

@NurseStav I agree with Gumbymom. Her info is right on. No pre-nursing. Just direct admit spots. if you don’t get in direct nursing you are not accepted for nursing. No undeclared or other major transferring in later. Very competitive
hi, @readthetealeaves and @Gumbymom I was wondering how the admission processes for UCLA and UC Irvine work for direct entry nursing. my friend just got into UCLA direct entry nursing and she said that for UCLA you need to be accepted into the college first AND for Irvine the nursing board does not see your application. can you guys give me distinct info on this?
I would highly recommend going into a direct entry nursing program if financially possible at all costs. Very competitive to get in after freshman year at other programs as well. Many nursing schools only about about 100-150 openings or less and most times have more than triple that number of applicants.
@NurseStav:
UCI admits into the University first and then into the major. The direct entry program no longer requires a supplemental application but the program department will review the applications for admission and alternate majors will be considered if the applicant does not meet the Nursing admit threshold.
Students not admitted to our program may reapply the following year. It is possible for you to be admitted to UC Irvine but not to the Nursing Science major. If this happens, admission will default to your second choice major. If you’re admitted to UC Irvine under a different major, you may reapply during the next year to change your major to Nursing Science once at UC Irvine.
UCLA’s Nursing program still requires a supplemental application so the Nursing department will review the applications while admissions will review applications for UC eligibility.
UCLA does not consider alternate majors and does not allow internal transfers for the Nursing program.
Applicants for both schools need to meet both UC eligibility and Nursing school/department eligibility.
