I think prestige doesn’t matter as much as what you make of your time which in school.
Definitely choose the school with an environment that makes you happier, because no matter what there will always be those times you will feel down in the dumps.

Although Cal is better known for its academia and seen as more prestigious most of the time, I’d still say UCLA is a very well-known and respected school and you have a great chance at grad schools if you work your butt off (which is true at most schools anyways). Both are known for being strong in all those areas, and I know that UCLA offers many education-related opportunities especially. I think it really comes down to where you feel more comfortable and the type of college life you’d like to have, which sounds like UCLA from your list.

Just by the way you described both of the schools, it seems like you would like UCLA a whole lot better. All those reasons and more and the reason i am going there next fall! Honestly, UCLA and Cal are not that different based on academics. Sure cal might be slightly ahead but it’s not going to hurt you at all if you choose la. Both schools will give you a great chance of getting into grad school! That just depends on you and how hard you work! If you haven’t visited, you should. If you already have, visit again. I’m going to bruinday and i’m sure there’s a cal day as well.
good luck!:)
