UCLA vs UCSB for dentistry / podiatry

Hello,

First of all, congratz to all those who got into their school of choices. :)

I've recently been accepted into both schools and have chosen my profession to be either dentistry or podiatry ( i know, very different. lol.)

I'm leaning towards SB because I realize that UCLA is a very difficult school, not just because of the rigor of the courses, but also the fact that some teachers there are simply there for their grant money and nothing else. They dont care if you learn anything at all. I know dentistry schools will look at GPA and I'm realizing that it will be "easier" at UCSB and correct me if I'm wrong, but all Uc's are looked upon the same (ex: UCR, UCI, UCSD = UCLA, UCB etc ) Would it be a wise decision to turn down a prestigious UCLA school to have a smoother ride (and prob a little more fun one) and most likely end up with a higher GPA?

Would love any thoughts on this.

There will be teachers everywhere that will teach for just “money.” I say don’t based your decision off of that.

Go to ucla!! , Dentistry school is really competitive it would be best to get used to a competitive environment.

thank you for the input guys.

Any more opinions?

It doesn’t matter where you go because dental schools only look at DAT scores, GPA, and prerequisite completion. Both UCLA and UCSB are top 10 public schools. If you feel like ou can excel better at UCSB, go for it!

It sounds like you think you’ll have a better time in college at UCSB. So go there! Prestige is going to play little if any role in admissions to the grad schools you are considering. And you are only going to be going thru college once in your life, so take the opportunity that you think will be more fun and that also will prepare you for your future.
