I'm trying to make up my mind on whether to go to UCLA or UCSD. I plan on becoming a pharmacist. I know that UCLA has a medical school, but no pharmacy school, whereas UCSD has a pharmacy school. I've also been accepted into UCLA for biochemistry but in UCSD for pharmacological chemistry. Will I have better success at getting into pharmacy school at UCLA or UCSD? Or are the chances about the same? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’m having the same exact issue. I love both places. Just keep in mind that attending for undergrad does nothing for you in terms of getting into their graduate school. Just go wherever you think you will succeed more.

The chances of getting into pharmacy school don’t depend on your undergraduate school. It depends on how and what you do at each school. Pick the school you like best I am also going into pharmacy and debating between UCLA and Davis (after crossing USC and UCSD off the list), so if any school had a clear advantage, I’d already have chosen xD

Yeah that’s what everyone tells me. But does having pharmacological chemistry as an undergraduate major gives me like an advantage in doing well in the PCAT?

Hmm…not sure about that. Sounds like a tough major. I’m pretty sure the PCAT is based off the major prerequisites for pharmacy school, rather than the requirements for a certain major.

Alright. Thanks for everyone’s comments so far.

Does anyone else have other comments/suggestions?
