I was recently admitted to both UCLA and WashU, and I have no idea which school to pick! I live in CA so UCLA is definitely the more economical choice, and is ideal in terms of the weather, city, and the school spirit. However, I am scared that there are too many students and I won’t get into the classes/majors that I want, because I am still not sure what I want to major in. WashU would give me this opportunity to explore, taking classes across schools and also allowing me to take a gap year (which UCLA does not allow). However, it lacks school spirit, socioeconomic diversity, has poor weather, and is not located near a great city. I know students at both schools who love their schools very much, I just don’t know which one is best for me. I would follow my gut, but I don’t know what my gut is telling me. Help!
UCLA is too good a deal to pass up with in state tuition, I think, unless money is really no issue for your family. Now if you really thought it was not a good fit for you, but Wash U felt so perfect, then we have a dilemma to ponder. But I didn’t hear that from you.
I am in the fortunate position where my parents told me not to worry about the financial difference, although it is definitely something that I am considering (obviously). I don’t know which one would be the best fit for me
well you certainly listed many more cons for Wash U than you did for UCLA…and I am sure there are many students there who are undecided about their major.
