Uconn 2025

This year really is so hard to predict. My son got into UCONN and Penn State but not URI. No merit money though and UCONN is so expensive OOS. Of course it’s his top choice too :pensive:

Question about campus change appeal to get on to the Storrs campus. What are they looking for when they ask you to explain the reason for your request? Are they looking for an essay type of answer or more get-to-the-point fact based answer? What have others done?

My cousin was branched last year and wrote an appeal and it got accepted. She didn’t really write an essay, she sort of just got straight to the point. She included how much she wanted to attend the university and basically went over her academic achievements and asked them to reconsider her for admission to the main campus. I’m gonna write an appeal too since I was branched, I would say if you’re gonna appeal just get straight to the point. Mention how much you want to attend Storrs and be specific about what about the campus appeals to you so much. Keep in mind I think they only accept appeals if they have room, so if you want to write an appeal you kinda have to hope that people don’t end up committing.

My D21 was accepted to UCONN and is very excited! I was wondering if they send out a letter/package as well? My S20 received all sorts of packages 2 years ago when he received his acceptances and she hasn’t received anything (VT, UConn and UVA). She excited for UConn as it is her top choice.

Yes. UCONN mails out a letter (package). My son received it Wednesday March 3.

Thanks very much! We’re in MD so hopefully we’ll get it soon. We have a bottleneck in our mail system when things go through Baltimore so hoping it’s soon! VT said they sent it almost 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

It’s funny… my son applied to UMD (we live in CT) and you applied to UCONN. He would prefer UMD but it seems more difficult to get admitted. Either way, in just a short couple of months this whole process will be over

im in new york and still haven’t received mail from uconn, rit, umd, or vt

UMD has gotten progressively harder every year to get in to! My son was rejected from UMD 2 years ago but accepted to UMBC and was planning on transferring after 2 years and now loves UMBC so much he decided to stay!

I appreciate your response! I’m glad we aren’t the only ones anxiously awaiting those packages!

yeah i’ve been checking my mailbox like three times a day and still nothing

She was accepted into engineering and will probably get her degree in mechanical. We are in Queen Anne Co. but moving to Frederick shortly after she starts. Is your son going to UCONN? What is his major?

He hasn’t decided yet. He is a Music Performance major (Violin), but he will probably look to double major in Music and either Political Science or Chinese. He’s waiting to hear back from other schools on his music auditions.

Very exciting and congrats to him! Such an exciting time for these kids!

My son got Hartford but he can room and board at Storrs and drive himself or take public bus to Hartford for his classes. Parking pass at both locations and we can appeal but the answer will come back after May 1. : (

We just heard via email today. My son got accepted in the BFA Acting Program at UCONN. We are super proud of him. He is so excited.
