UConn Admissions Decisions

Yes I was definitely disappointed but not completely surprised as we realize his GPA is below par for UC :-/

I think my D is in the same boat. GPA 3.42. It will be her only rejection so far too. Not meant to be I guess.

I’m so sorry your son didn’t get in to his first choice @kbiresearch - that stinks but fingers crossed for his other school choices:)
Did he receive notice via mail? The wait is so hard and I’ve yet to hear from them, although I got a call last week asking if i had any questions but nothing since…

Maybe the phone call is a good sign @uni2018 because we did not get one that I’m aware of. I found out on the admissions status UConn page online, haven’t gotten the letter yet. Fortunately he’s into most all of the other New England flagships: UVM, UNH and UMaine, yet to hear from UMass. Also into a couple of privates…merit dollars from everyone except UNH

Bella luna, you never know. I still think your D has a good chance.

I’m really unsure at this point @kbiresearch - it could be but it seems to be so hard to tell either way. I applied to Umass also. Good luck to your son on his decisions!

So sorry @kbiresearch :frowning: Glad he has some other great options!

What are some peoples stats for nursing that have been accepted? I have a 4.4 GPA but my SAT is only 1860. Not sure it’s gonna make the cut.

The March date is actually fairly early, but not if there is no option for EA or ED. Waiting until mid-February or March 1 is really tough if you applied back in October like many did. Plus, like many posters, the kids get other acceptances elsewhere and potentially move on mentally. That’s definitely the case for my S who is in at Tulane and PSU and likely won’t go to UConn even if accepted. Not sure it’s the right approach

@kbiresearch wow he is really lucky to have got in at such great schools my D didn’t get into UVM and now it doesn’t look good for uconn he should be very proud

Yes I am really hoping he can move on – we’ve got to make some plans to go to accepted student days. I recall they are all very upbeat events, rah rah

so it seems like theres no movement at all today … anybody hear anything

No I was just thinking the same thing lol!

personally I think what they did was awful some got calls no status change some got status change no option to pay some got option to pay with no explanation some got an email some got a status change now we find out they got a rejection some are sitting here with nothing but fear so unreal if you say your going to release on a date then do it all on that date and make it clear this was just insane and confusing

This release has been unlike any other school we’ve encountered so far. Still no change on my son’s portal message. It is leaving a bad taste in my mouth for UCONN. There has to be a better way.

I agree, older child attends Uconn applied when there was early action, much smoother process. This year the process has been a disaster.

just checked the website and the status has changed. My S is now waitlisted and a decision will be made at the end of May. :frowning: So frustrated as this was our first choice. Deposits have to be in to other schools by May 1! Now what???

omg the end of may so unfair so unfair

That makes things so difficult! :(

I’m sorry I just can’t stop thinking about this the end of may this is suppose to be a happy time for these kids its bad enough half this year is gone with the stress of worry now they are being told to wait till basically graduation to find out they will miss out on so much

Same thing happened here. Status is now waitlisted. It was my D’s first choice by far. Very disappointing. I wonder what the odds are of getting in. She’ll have to accept somewhere else and be prepared to give up that deposit if she gets into UConn. This makes it hard for her to get excited about the 2nd choice. A flatout rejection might have been preferable to holding out a slim hope!
