Uconn Honors vs Patriot League schools

How is Uconns honors college viewed in regards to prestige and academic quality compared to the Patriot League schools?

For those not familiar the Patriot League is the academic conference that these schools are a part of:
Colgate, Bucknell, College of the Holy Cross, Lehigh, Lafayette, etc.
(These five are the only I am interested in)

I will ultimately not look into prestige as a deciding factor, but it is part of the research process for me. I am very interested in academic quality though, and sometimes I find there is a tie between the two (sometimes not).

For the record, I am aware of the massive differences between some of these schools in terms of size, social life, surrounding area, etc. Just want to know about the prestige and academic quality between Uconn Honors and these Patriot League schools

I am also going to majoring in a natural science. Definitely not business, engineering, or anything else. Will apply into biology.

is it ok to “bump” to the top on this forum?

My opinion is that the Patriot League schools are better than UConn. But, UConn is still very good and is probably the best “bang for your buck”. So it really depends on your finances. I wouldn’t go into debt to go to the Patriots League schools when UConn is a good option.

Thanks BeanTownGirl - yea it is helpful being in the Uconn honors program and taking small classes, combined with the value its a very sweet deal.

Also does anyone feel like Uconn Honors has a stronger student body than these Patriot League Schools? I know the basic requirements are 1400/1600 so ~2100 for most students with a top 5% rank in their class. I dont feel these Patriot League schools can boast that

Don’t go to UConn thinking you will have an honor college experience that separates you, a great deal, from the main student body at UConn. Many students who enter UConn in the honors program do not remain in the honors program, some by choice, some by gpa circumstance. Housing is better in honors, but I’m not sure after freshmen year. If you go to UConn go because you like UConn !!! Go Huskies  But if you’re more of a private-school-type and can afford it, go there instead. I think you’re using “prestige” to mean - where you’re most comfortable -
where you’re most comfortable.

Thanks, do many students at UConn fall below the 3.5 needed to stay in the Honors program?

I’ll think about that question and whether I have any advise on how to find out.
