I can't decide between Rutgers and UConn. I am considering a major in journalisim or communications. Which school would be better for that major? I would like to become a news anchor, or something similar in the future. I am also considering BU (I got into the COM program there), but BU is alot more expensive then Rutgers and UConn. So does anyone have any thoughts?

Boston University is not worth the money...the campus is designed horribly, and students say they have to walk 15 minutes from the dorms to even SEE the BU buildings. It is also very expensive, and not worth the money. Rutgers is a good school, but a little violent. The plus side is that Rutgers would have more intern oppurtunites than UConn, simply because of it's location. UConn is the nicer of the 3 campuses, and is supposed to have a pretty good journalism program. I wouldn't advise BU...but can't help you between UConn and Rutgers (though I would pick UConn...our priorities may be different).

UConn....of course

Omniscient1, you say UConn...but why? Why is it better?

Because you're on the UConn thread...lol.

Go for what's cheaper... If you work hard and excel at any state school (or anywhere) you can have the same opportunities afterwards.

On a side note... I'm a Rutgers honors student and took an honors seminar called "Communications and Human Values" with this prof: http://www.scils.rutgers.edu/facstaff/profile/?netid=heffner ... so Rutgers may have a better journalism faculty than UConn, I don't know.
