i was trying to find out how many people are admitted into prepharm, since only 100 spots are available for the professional years. its a holiday so i am gonna call up tomorrow and try to find out, but i figured someone might know the ratio, or maybe its on the web and i just cant find it.

does anyone know how many people are admitted into prepharm, and is it true there are only 100 spots for the professional years?

i dont know how many apply for prepharmacy, but the admissions office told me that after the first two years of the program there were 260 people applying for 100 spots. i know that no transfers are acccepted into their pharmacy program since they are turning too many people down from their own prepharm program. i didnt ask about regional campuses. either way the odds dont seem good- especially for an oos candidate like myself. it makes me cringe thinking i could waste 60,000 in tuition and not make it into my professional years.

Once you get into the 6 year track for the pharmacy program, it is pretty competitive to maintain your place withing the program. If I am not correct, the g.p.a will rise from a 3.0 for my year to 3.5 for next year's incoming class.

i'm going to be a freshman at UConn in the fall of 2008, majoring in pre pharm. i'm worried about the 3.5 too. what do people do if they dont' get accepted to the pharmacy school??
