Uconn Stamford Transfer

Hello, i just had a few questions i was hoping someone could answer, it concerns Uconn - Stamford Campus. I live in stamford and am hoping to enroll for the fall class of 2014 but with an aim to transfer to a different school. Because of my low gpa i was unable to get into some of the schools that i did wish to attend, i have had a better senior year averaging a 3.4 and taking 5 AP courses. I know schools ask for your highschool transcript when your decide to apply as a tranfer so i was wondering if uconn stamford will allow me to transfer most of my core classes, or would it be better to go to a community college and do it form there? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks again

I’m not quite sure I understand your intent. You are planning to enter the Stamford campus and then transfer to a non-UConn school? When you say “transfer most of my core classes” are you talking about classes you will take at the Stamford branch?

Please clarify.

Philosopher,

I was currently enrolled at Uconn stamford, not loving it, but am getting ready to transfer. Thats correct i would like to go to a non Uconn schoo. The most common school around here is Boston University, but i am curious in other schools that are known for accepting and making it easy from transfers not frlom community colleges but from other univeristies as well.

ANy advice would be appreciated.

thanks again

Well, in that case, that would not be a question for this forum. I would ask the question again on the page of the school you would like to transfer to. Each university and college has its own policy regarding transfers. Some schools do not even accept transfer students.

Generally, both undergraduate and high school transcripts are viewed during transfer admissions. Some schools also consider your SAT/ACT score. Again, it depends on the school.

In terms of you transferring: are you willing to take on such a significantly larger cost to attend a school like BU? I would suggest trying one of the other state universities in Connecticut, or even the Storrs campus, before deciding to transfer to a completely different school. If you transfer to another UConn branch, you will also be able to transfer all of your credits. If you attend a different school, you may not be able to do that. Just things to consider.
