UCR or CSUN for bio major

Hi everyone !
I got into UCR and CSUN for bio major and I cannot decide which is the better option. if anyone can give feedback in terms of classes, major opportunities, etc, it will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Costs between both schools? Are they affordable? Do you have to take out loans to make either affordable?

Career objective?

Commuting or living on-campus?

Compare the Biology curriculum between both schools including electives especially if you have a special area of interest.

No I am not worried about cost or living on-off campus.
Just which one would be better if I want to eventually pursue going to medical school

Time to do a little more digging.

If you’re thinking seriously about med school, find out which school has the better ‘pre-health advising’ office and what their services offer.

Contact them directly and ask about how many student they typically serve, how many students are on track for MD, PA, DPT or RN and how they help those students achieve their goals.
Specifically for med school, do they assist with planning, timing and making sure the students take the required courses?
Do they assist with MCAT timing and study, along with any other required testing?
How many students apply for med school each year? What is their success rate?
How are recommendation letters handled?

Good luck.

Thank you so much.

UCR is the least bad/best school for premeds. Lots of supportive programs (relatively speaking).

Look into your eligibility for the UCR Medical Scholars Program https://msp.ucr.edu/ This could be very advantageous compared to CSUN.

^thats what I was thinking of. Thanks for finding it @aquapt
