I’m super paranoid now lol I received an email from UCR saying my TAG got approved, “Congratulations… Your TAG has been approved…” I checked my portal and it said my application is still being reviewed. I called the admissions office and I asked them is my acceptance status going to update since my TAG got approved and she said TAG and the uc app are two different things lol so now I’m paranoid / does that mean I got into UCR?
Not sure what you want anyone on here to tell you…? You can have your TAG approved and still not be accepted to a UC, but it is very rare. You explicitly even asked the admissions office.
What they mean is you’re in based on what you gave them. If you get any Ds, the TAG is void; if you drop a course and are less than 60 semester units, the TAG is void; if you drop a course and have less than 30 semester units from a CCC, the TAG is void; if you don’t complete required course for your major as planned, the TAG is void.
For regular (eg. non-TAG) applicants their acceptance letter does not mean they are completely in; it means if they finish out the courses they said they were taking when they submitted the app and winter update they will be accepted. There is usually a gpa requirement as well.
For you it means that you listed a set of classes and grades when you filled out the TAG application. You updated them recently with the winter update. If you pass the classes you said you were taking and meet all the other TAG elegibility criteria (3.2 gpa, etc) then you will be admitted.
