UCR vs. Cal Poly Pomona vs. San Jose State

I got admitted to both Cal Poly Pomona and San Jose State for nutrition. I also got admitted to UCR (and people are saying I should go because it’s a UC) but it doesn’t have my major. If I go to UCR, I am hoping to transfer to another school for nutrition (that I didn’t get admitted into this year). I am confused as to which one I should go to. HELP I need to decide quick. Thank you for your advice!

Do not attend UCR just because it is a UC. If they do not have your major and you are set on Nutrition, then select from CPP or SJSU. If you want to attend a UC, then the CC to UC transfer option with TAG would be a better route and save you some money.

Compare costs, course curriculum, location/school environment etc…

Select the school the meets your needs academically/financially and socially for the best fit.

Thank you so much for your quick reply! Do you have any preference between CPP and SJSU? I’ve been looking at the rankings for both but they’re all mixed up. Do you know if CPP or SJSU has a better reputation for nutrition?

Based on the rankings I have seen for the Nutrition programs, both SJSU and CPP are similarly ranked.

I would compare program curriculum’s to see which might work better for you. Also determine if costs and location will fit your needs.

I am a CPP grad, so I have a special bias for that school and it has served my well as a graduate.

Best of luck with your decision.

Thank you so much, I appreciate your reply!
