UCR VS. SDSU

So I got an acceptance from UCR and SDSU. I will be a neuroscience major at UCR and a psychology major at SDSU.

I live in San Diego (an hour away from SDSU), and I am about 1.5 hours away from UCR. I haven’t been able to visit either college due to the Covid-19 pandemic. My gut says UCR but money and my parents say SDSU. I want to eventually get into Stanford medical school (long shot, but I will work my ass off). I need to obtain at least a 3.89 GPA and near-perfect MCAT score.

I know that UCR is very STEM-driven and I have researched the backgrounds of many UCR professors—I was intrigued and impressed. SDSU is a party school if you make it one. I have asked several SDSU alumni who could attest to that. Im leading towards UCR because of the science pathway I could take and research opportunities I can get my hands on. Money is fairly tight, so my parents (who happened to go to SDSU) want me to go.

I know by choosing UCR, I will make a selfish decision, but in the long-run do you think this decision will ultimately benefit me and my chances in getting into my dream medical school: Stanford?

And advice will help
