I already got accepted to UCR but still waiting on UCI. I think it will come soon though. It's taking sooo long! I want to go to UCI but I don't think I got accepted. We'll see. Anyways, I was wondering which is better for science UCR or UCI? I'm planning to major in Biology. What are the pros and cons for UCI and UCR? Which campus is nicer, in general? What about the dorms?

someone please answer my thread

Both are good science schools. But IMO Irvine is a much more pleasant place to spend four years than Riverside. Riverside is hot and very smoggy.

my fd had visited UCR before and she told that UCR is like a University on desert..
my cousin got bit up during his freshmen year so he had to go back to LA state
also, I think UCR has a pretty gd business major but i am not quite sure about science..
so if u get into UCI,,i will strongly recommend u to go to UCI.

Hey, I think UCI is way better. To tell you the truth, I dont know much about the science program of either school (Im planning to double major in Philosophy and Economics) but UCI was definitely one of my top choices and I know a little bit about it. I visited Irvine a few months ago and it was great. Its a very nice college atmosphere, the academics are great and the campus is beautiful! I do know that biology and psychology are popular majors there and I remember passing by some of the science buildings and thinking that they were some of the best on campus (if that tells you anything...).

More importantly, I know that UCI is MUCH MUCH more prestigious than Riverside. Really, if you decide to go to Riverside you'll have people asking you the same question for the next 4 years: "why the hell did u decide to go there?!?". Also, I knew of someone that went there and he tells me that EVERYONE leaves every weekend because there's nothing to do.

So, its your choice and definitely visit both campuses but I think you'll end up liking UCI more. Its an awesome school and I know a lot of people that go there and are very happy.

BTW, don't get too discouraged by how long its taking. I got accepted very early in March but I also know that how long its takes has nothing to do with your chances of getting in. They say that they release admission results on a rolling basis between March 1 - 30.
