UCs accepting spring/winter 2011 transfers?!

I am getting really worried. Anyone know for sure? Are UCs accepting spring/winter 2011 transfers?! I just read yesterday somewhere on the UCB website that they are not accepting spring applicants. And now I'm reading other UC campuses are on the fence about it.
UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz are three UCs I want to apply to.

UC Berkeley never truly accepted spring admits as there spring admits are people who applied for the fall semester but were diverted to spring.

Santa Cruz is accepted winter 2010 applications actually. Starting in July. If I don’t end up going fall I’ll just go winter

Thanks! I never really knew that about Berkeley. And thank god about Santa Cruz… I think I might even ask a Rep for more information.

They are seriously not going to accept winter/spring 2011-2012 transfers which sucks because thats when I’ll finally be in junior level standing. Check out the matrix for 2011-2012. It says fall only whereas 2010-2011 said winter and fall.
Here’s 2010-2011: <a href=“Understanding UC transfer | UC Admissions”>Understanding UC transfer | UC Admissions;
Here’s 2011-2012: <a href=“Understanding UC transfer | UC Admissions”>Understanding UC transfer | UC Admissions;

Spot the difference?

Also, UCI’s website specifically says “We accept Fall transfers only” somewhere on their website. I researched so much I don’t remember where it states that.

I say we all petition the UC’s into getting the winter/spring transfers back and have then omit it 2012-2013! That way the high school c/o 2011 are able to plan around the new change :)

I’m living proof about the Berkeley spring admit thing lol. I don’t start officially until next semester :(. Although I’m there like 3 days a week anyway.

Yeah I was looking for answers about this too, and found out that most, if not all UC’s have closed winter/spring transfers, which really sucks because I could be in junior standing by the end of next summer.

Is it possible to apply to CAL and if I get accepted for fall take a deferment and start during winter?

Please do not bump 5 year old threads!!!

Generally UCB does not allow people who are accepted in the Fall to defer to the spring. (UCB is semester, so only Fall and Spring, no winter)

If you have an extenuating circumstance, maybe? Why don’t you wait and see what happens in April, then you can call UCB and ask.
