I’ve looked around but I’ve honestly been getting a lot of mixed answers.
Do UC colleges actually look at freshman year grades or do they consider UC GPA to be more important?
I’ve heard that yes they do look at all of the grades, no they use UC GPA, and a mixed yes and no because they factor freshman grades in for acceptance for overall GPA but they use UC GPA for reviewing applicants.
So what’s the deal? How do UC colleges actually look at GPA?
UC’s do consider Freshman grades in that you need to have a C or higher in the a-g course requirements taken Freshman year. Freshman grades are not included in the UC GPA calculation, only 10-11th grades which will be used to review your application. Senior grades are mainly used for maintaining your provisional admission once accepted and to make sure you pass the rest of your a-g course requirements. If you received a supplemental due to low grades and are a possible borderline applicant, Senior grades will be asked to be submitted.
