ucs terrible gpa...chances?

<p>alright so heres my final stats...i got a 2.8 uc gpa...i really sukked it up sophmore year 2.0 gpa but turned it around somewhat junior year...i got a 1310 on my sat 1 660 V 650 M and a 1820 composite score for my sat 2s...i have taken 7 honors/ap courses...good classes but bad grades...i have a great essay even making a teacher cry....i have 300+ hours of community service (junior missionary,adopted a grandparent, tutoring..) good work experience (ive held 3 jobs so far)...im applying as an english major to ucr, ucsc ucd and even uci (no chance i know..) im also first generation immigrant with low income....im dying to know do i have any chance in hell...plz help me~</p>

<p>You may have a chance at UCR. The thing is, which UC do you want? Now that you're on a good path, why not do the 2 years at a community college and end up at the school you really want?</p>

<p>yeah, your gpa is crazy low for UCs; it's right on the MINIMUM gpa to even be considered. Knowing that, your chances are pretty low for the more known UCs, you should be able to get into maybe riverside, santa cruz, or merced, though.</p>
