UC's to Out of State transfer

So I am freshman Computer Engineering major at UCSC, and I am looking to transfer after/during my sophmore year. The reason for transferring is because I want to go to a bigger, more established engineering program, that may have more opportunities for me. I will have finished all the prereqs for my major for other UC's by the time I transfer, and will probably have around a 3.7 gpa. My question is: Will it be easier to transfer to out of state schools, because they will be accepting more out of state students because of the economy?
Here is a list of schools I'm interested in:
University of Southern California
UCSB
UCSD
UCLA
University of Washington(accepted as a freshman, chose not to go because of cost)
University of Maryland, College Park(Legacy)
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Purdue(accepted as a freshman, chose not to go because of cost)
University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
University of Virginia
Virginia Tech
University of Wisconsin, Madison
University of Texas, Austin
Texas A&M
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
Boston University

I know that this is quite a long list, and I will not be applying to all these schools. Please give me some feedback on transfer rates for any of the listed schools above, and which ones I would stand better chances at. Thanks in advance!

bump 10 char. Anyone?

I’m confused, if you didn’t go to UW because of cost, why are you focused on OOS publics now? Is money no longer n issue?

Transferring between UCs is always difficult. You will have a good shot a USC though.

All the engineers I’ve know who graduated from UCSC had strong job opportunities. The location attracts a lot of Silicon Valley recruiters. They my not be getting the jobs Stanford or Caltech grads are getting, but they’re doing as well or better than those at most schools on your list.

Agree about cost at the OOS publics, the only one that offers FA to OOS students is UVA.

Do you even qualify for FA? Because if not, the privates will be higher as well.

For transfer rates, go to the the CB College Search function. Search for the college, go to the Admission section and do the math.

@Waverly - Money is not as much of an issue for my last two years of college. The reason I went to UCSC was to save money for the first two years, and then transfer to another school such as UW.
@entomom - I do not get much much financial aid if any at all, but cost is not that much of an issue.
